Earth Day in Bellevue

Set for April 19 with EV Display, Expanded Activities, Exhibits and Giveaways

BELLEVUE, Neb. — Green Bellevue announced that Earth Day in Bellevue will be held on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Bellevue University’s John B. Muller Administrative Building, 812 Bruin Blvd. (lower level), from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

This free, family-friendly event offers a fun and educational experience for all ages, with expanded activities, new exhibits and unique giveaways focused on sustainability in action.

“Celebrating Earth Day in Bellevue is now a 17-year tradition because of the incredible support from our volunteers, community partners and sponsors,” said Green Bellevue President, Ruth Richter. “From student groups and the Mayor’s Youth Council to our Bee City USA partners and local organizations, it’s inspiring to see so many people stepping up to help create a fun, educational experience that empowers others to take action for a healthier environment.”

New this year, a Drive Electric EV display will be featured outdoors, organized by the Electric Vehicle Association and supported by the Nebraska Sierra Club and OPPD. OPPD will also have an indoor exhibit featuring “Mr. E,” sharing practical energy efficiency tips for the home.

Attendees can enjoy a variety of interactive experiences, including bird seed feeder activity, native plant up-potting, Zero Waste relay, free face painting (Lolli Pop) and more!

Earth Day in Bellevue will feature exhibits from approximately 30 local organizations, including environmental groups, student organizations and community partners.  The full list of exhibitors is available on our website.

Local vendors will be on-site selling native plants, garden design services and environment-friendly products, including Bumbling Bee Wildflowers, Solutions Plastics, Green Rabbit Farms, Kingsfoil Gardens Landscape Designs and Beauty & the Bees.

In addition to the popular and fun scavenger hunt with prizes, the event features:

  • Free rolls of bamboo toilet paper (first 250 families), promoting tree-free, biodegradable alternatives

  • Distribution of 200 boxes of orange bags used to collect hard-to-recycle plastics

  • EPS Styrofoam collection hosted by Plastilite, which also offers a 24/7 drop-off location in Florence area of Omaha.
